Does it have garlic and ginger in it? Once you get it mixed up you can taste the liquid and adjust if it needs more punchy flavor.

If you’re committed to making Kimchi, consider getting an E-Jen container. It’s basically a fool-proof method of making kimchi or sauerkraut or any fermented veggie. That’s what I use and it’s never failed.
